CHALFONT – St. Jude Catholic School in Chalfont was presented with another $5,000 in Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program scholarships, said Rep. Todd Polinchock (R-Bucks), who joined BLOCS and Verizon in presenting the check.
“These scholarship funds go a long way in supporting our students through their education by helping them grow and learn,” said Polinchock. “The EITC program is an incredible way for local businesses to give back to the community while receiving tax credits so they can continue thriving as well.”
The tax credit programs provide companies with a 75% tax credit – 90% for a two-year commitment – for funds donated to approved, non-profit scholarship or educational improvement organizations.
Businesses may donate up to $750,000 per year through the EITC and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. The Pre-K EITC initiative offers businesses up to $200,000 in tax credits annually at a 90% tax credit for funds donated to an approved non-profit scholarship organization.
To support Pennsylvania’s educational tax credits, the Pennsylvania Legislature has continued funding the program, adding an additional $40 million in scholarships to the 2021-22 state budget.
