CHALFONT – Rep. Todd Polinchock (R-Bucks) joined BLOCS and Verizon in presenting St. Jude Catholic School in Chalfont with $5,000 in Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program scholarships.
“Thank you to our businesses that continue to invest in our students and their futures, it is an invaluable gift to support their education,” said Polinchock. “Students are receiving opportunities they may not have had if it weren’t for this additional funding through the EITC program.”
The tax credit programs provide companies with a 75% tax credit – 90% for a two-year commitment – for funds donated to approved, non-profit scholarship or educational improvement organizations.
Businesses may donate up to $750,000 per year through the EITC and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. The Pre-K EITC initiative offers businesses up to $200,000 in tax credits annually at a 90% tax credit for funds donated to an approved non-profit scholarship organization.
To support Pennsylvania’s educational tax credits, the Pennsylvania Legislature has continued funding the program, adding an additional $40 million in scholarships to the 2021-22 state budget.
